What are Plastic Paver Blocks & Its Manufacturing Process ?
What is Plastic Paver Block ?
Plastic Paver Blocks are the type of construction material that are used in paving (pavement in outdoor floor or surface). In this type of paver block cement or any type of bonding agents are not used to manufacture the block the waste plastic is used to manufacture the block. Plastic Paver Block are available in different shapes and size similar to interlocking concrete blocks. These are made from plastic scraps which are further molded into the required shape and size.
Plastic Paver Block Manufacturing Process :
Step 01 :
Plastic are segregated as per there type and Classification, then shredded into smaller pieces by using the shredder & the grinder machine.
Step 02 :
These small plastic pieces are well mixed with the sand in the extrusion machine the ratio of plastic & sand is 30:70 proportion ( 30 is plastic and 70 is sand ) at a temperature range of 200° to 250°C .
Step 03 :
The extruded molten material is placed in the paver molds & pressed under the compression machine. Once cooled, the blocks are taken out of the mold & stacked.

Uses of Plastic Paver Block :
Plastic paver blocks can be used in a various area outside our home like in garden pathways, residential car parking, etc. as these block is designed to use in rough and tough environment as they are durable and light weight as compression to concrete paver and other pavers.
Plastic pavers should not be used on public footpaths, commercial and public buildings, & in heavy traffic areas as they can be slippery which may damage us and accident may happen.
Pros and Cons of Plastic Paver Blocks
Pros :
- Environmentally Friendly ( These type of Paver block are environment friendly as for making this type of paver block we use plastic waste which is harmful for our environment)
- Lightweight ( These type of Paver block are lightweight because we are using plastic which is in less in weight)
- Durable (These type of paver block are durable because as we know plastic are made from petrochemical which is not easily degradable in environment which leads plastic paver to last long compare to other pavers)
- Easy Installation ( As in this type of paver block the paver is attached to each other perfectly as they are alternatively attached or interlocked to each other)
- Low Maintenance ( These type of Paver Block is low maintenance because of plastic use in it as plastic is non degradable)
- Customizable ( These pavers can be customized according to our need and sizes by the help of mold available)
- Permeable Options
Cons :
- Limited Load-Bearing Capacity (load bearing of these type of block are low as plastic are used to manufacture)
- Less Durable in Harsh Conditions ( as condition of environment is getting worse these type of block cannot survive the condition)
- Color Fading
- Potential for Warping or Distortion
- Susceptible to Scratches and Scuffs
- Environmental Impact of Production ( while production carbon is released which causes bad effect on surrounding environment also for mold electricity and heat required)
- Limited Availability
- Cost Considerations
